A month or so ago, I posted photos of a model highway bridge I was constructing. It was a model of PA Route 35 where it crossed over the Middle  Division of the PRR at Mifflin, PA. Well, I just finished the model, and here are some photos, including one of the prototype for comparison. Year is supposed to be 1966, and notice the mid 60's automobiles. I've looked hard for regular 4 door sedans, not Corvettes and convertibles.  Please excuse the driverless station wagon!

Happy Friday

Back from 10 days in my home state of NJ! Survived the car ride w/ 3 kids, wife & pug! Giovanna celebrated her first birthday! It was good to relax & catch up w/ family & friends. I found some time to do some railfanning & visited some old CNJ relics while I was up there. Still have many pics to go through.

Didn't do much on the layout this week, as we got home Monday & then everyone was back to work/school.
Main thing I did was this bridge over my Newark Bay. I would have LOVED the 213 lift bridge, but the base was a bit to large as was the price.
A buddy of mine who does woodworking was nice enough to build me a bridge to cross my version of Newark Bay. Was able to install it this week & run a test train over it.

Neal,

I cross that bridge every time I visit my parents in Port Royal. Beautiful job. You really captured the feel of the area.

Some more build photos of progress on my 5x9 D-105 Lionel Display Layout. Started with off white base and then masked off areas for track and placement of accessories. Painted over with a PW-style green and sprinkled on 919 "grass."

I think it turned out well and is faithful to the look of the old Display Layouts. The mountain is not the old school Lionel method but is simply cardboard strips, paper and plaster cloth.  Played around with the paints. That was fun! Again, happy with the results.

Wiring up accessories and trackside signals comes next and will build a control platform for the ZW and 364c & other on/off switches.

Final step will be track. Of course, am using good old Lionel tubular. Lots of insulated sections for activating accessories and signals. Picked up a few simple relays to smooth out operation.
