Beautiful scene, Sam. Really like the different Santa Fe livery.

Here's one I took of some Amtrak Chargers being delivered for use on the Cascades service.

Note the second unit is Amtrak 1402. This was the lead unit in the infamous Dupont crash just over a year ago.

Came home from work this morning to find a package from Pats Trains. I always wanted the flag baggage car. Thanks Patrick for fast service.   The car it is with is a 21 inch k-line car.  Nick T.

Trumptrain, The whole panorama of that river scene is inviting, enticing the viewer to want to search with his eyes to see more, as much as possible. Very nice composition, indeed!

I'm the third generation owner of the Marx CV, and the second generation owner of the Lionel 1684. My Dad's first and second locomotives, and he passed the CV down to his little brother, and he left it to me.

When I was a truck driver I used to haul coils of steel like that from Detroit to Milwaukee, AO Smith used them to make water heaters for home or commercial use. I would have them loaded so the opening was 90 degrees from what we see here. That way if I hit the brakes hard it would not roll over the cab and kill me. The coils I hauled were between 45-48,000 pounds. I was very careful on turns as they are top heavy. The coils we are looking at here are anywhere from 40-100,000 pounds. I am surprised they are not tarped to prevent rust.

hauling coils like those on the rail cars are called Shotgun,the other way is called Suicide.

When I worked in the Litho plant we got coils in that were flat on skids.
