I put to much ballast on my track, and now my train derails. I used scenic cement to secure the ballast down. Any ideas on removing some? I'm hoping I don't have to scrape it all off.
Any pic of how much ballast you put on. Did you apply over the ties between the rails, in the switches. Is the derailing occurring just in one spot.............Paul
Make a mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and water and use a spray bottle to soak your ballast. See if that makes the cement loosen up and then scrape away the un-wanted ballast. You will probably have to re-apply some of the ballast.
Warm water and a wet/dry shop vac with the crevice attachment. I once used my big shop vac this way to remove a lot of ballast attached with diluted white glue, and it worked well.
