NS- THOROUGHBRED THURSDAY!

NS C40-8W #8381 at NJ Hirailers.

Amtrak Station in Lewistown, PA

Pan Am Railways, Rigby Yard.  South Portland, Maine

A quiz... is this the NS Fort Wayne line at Emsworth, PA or the CSX line at the same location ??

HINT:  CSX rerouted last week due to derailment in PA.

Had a few beers and watched some paychecks roll by on the Chicago Line at Vermilion, OH this week (after hours of course).

Also took some time to clean up my NS truck. I usually pull everything out of her every 6 months, vacuum and shampoo the seats, wash and wax.  Company pride seems to be one of the traditions they are making us let go of -  too bad I'm a stubborn Irishman!

It's my favorite too! I grew up watching the IT run past my childhood home until the ICG abandoned the Decatur District in April of 1980.

Thanks Mike!! I took the summer off, projects, camping, family time, and of course work, but tomorrow I'm back on the layout!! An end to the "sun-birding" season.

This is about as close as it gets on my railroad to the Thoroughbred NS. Maybe it could pass for a heritage car?
