I have a set of Williams two tone gray NYC passenger cars and want to match the shade of dark gray used on the roofs. Anyone know what mfg. offers this shade of gray?

It doubtful that you would find an exact match for a manufacturers color as they use formulations that come from the Orient and may or may not match a commercially available paint. There is also variation depending on the run. Colors tend to drift, especially depending on what exact factory it came from.
What kind of paint are you looking for? Bottled paint or rattle can? With Bottled paint, you can get a color that is close and then add drops of other others to the mix to get it to be a close match. It is tedious but it does work. You might start with Pullman Dark Gray or NYC Dark Gray from Tru-Color paints and see how close it is and go from there.

In the day on real trains the same color paint from the same company could be slightly different. Dyes were not as stable as today. Even Lionel had like issues with paints and plastics.
Thanks GG1...that's a good starting place. A "tad" white for lighter or a "tad" black for darker.
