First the Nickel Plate 765 steam engine came to Chicago in June for the Joliet Rocket excursion and now the Soo Line 1003 steam engine visits the Galewood train station in Chicago on Saturday.Too bad I found out about the Soo Line visit 12 hours too late.I would have loved to have seen it on display at the station.I am guessing a big shot at Metra likes steam engines and is making these trips possible.I hope this trend continues!

Cool, I notice it was pulling grain cars? Revenue run to pay for the costs?

More for braking power.  The trip was paid for by the Shriners.
