Well my preplanning has started at the Baynes garage for this 2016 Christmas lay out.  As in years past I'll be doing a "L" shape in the corner BUT!!!  I'm giving thought to putting a live tree on it this year.  So was just wondering if there is any other out there who share the early bird building...

Ever since I was a kid going back to early 1950's there's been a train around the tree.  As the yrs went on the Christmas Garden was elevated from the floor to a platform.  Now (many yrs later) in my house the tree and garden are placed in front of the living room windows.  The problem arose in decorating the tree.  Since it was in front of the windows it was hard to decorate it 360 degrees.  We solved the problem by putting the tree in a revolving stand.  Problem solved and it looks great even from the road.  So if you anticipate a similar problem you know what to do.  Good luck and please post some pics.

The last 5 yrs or so it's been an artificial tree in a revolving stand but before that we had a fresh cut tree in a revolving stand.

Not only did I not take mine down, I have the tree lights on as I type.

Ok, it IS small enough for a 30x30" table, but still stands and is run often.

I was going to put it away in the basement, but I saw a YT video of an Englishman who celebrates a very traditional Christmas EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR. That's right 24/7 and 365 Christmas dinners, toasts, and small wrapped gifts to himself. All because he loves the spirit of it all so much. Looked like fun, so I try to recall it daily myself now. I already knew I'd enjoy it, we left the tree up till Easter a number of years in my lifetime. Even that late in the season it was a plesant daily reminder of all it represents.

The trains? Taking them down wasn't very fun either
