Well if the look of the teaser is any hint, it does look like a Vision Line product will be announced at York.  Looks like the announcement based on the date could be at the TCA museum presentation.  I'm certainly looking forward to @Dave Olson popping up from behind and engine again, doing a Vanna White, and whispering "Vision Line!"

So this is on Lionel's Facebook page announcing Facebook live streaming at 4pm on the 18th.  This puts Lionel at the TCA museum in.....STRASBURG.  So I'm calling it...Vision Line Strasburg 90, with whistle steam, blow down, digitally recorded sounds of the real engine, swinging bell, etc.  If they swing for the fences, a set of passenger cars with features I can't even think of. And maybe some Strasburg freight cars with sounds but that would be a stretch.  I'll be happy if they just make the engine.

Would make sense.   Seems like a good fit to mix in more of the brass hybrid construction as well

Maybe Lionel will announce the new Vision Line credit card.... 1 year interest free financing over $1k, 2 years interest free over $2k

...

I've often wondered about this as well.  But there are no free lunches in life.  Any of these plans that involve "interest-free financing" typically have the interest charges hidden in what is essentially a higher price of the item.  And as we all know, Lionel's prices are already painfully in nose-bleed territory as it is.  Can you imagine the price bump they'd institute to cover an "interest-free financing" plan???

And from what we've seen of Lionel's current crew at the helm, they'd probably sell off the receivables in no time flat (i.e., within a year or two of starting the program) rather than carry the credit accounts over time.  Let's not forget, this crew is the one who already liquidated much of the former corporation's product archives to bolster the company's cash position.    These guys and gals are hungry for CASH -- not just receivables -- on the books.

Hey, we can all dream though.

If nothing else we'll have a involved conversation on Lionel's pricing, decision making process, and leadership team...again.

LOL.  Carnac the Magnificent couldn't have predicted that any easier.

Yep.  Certain participants are bound to participate in their own participatory way - and you can set your clock and run the trains by it.

Good grief.

As do those who take issue with the posts that call it like it is -- keeping it real, no more no less.  The counter-point posts appear like clockwork -- each and every time.

Sorry to burst all of your bubbles. You know I am the official bubble burster

Lionel has done something completely out of the box. It is a tiny Steeplecab electric with operating pantograph, full Legacy control and sound and, get this. An engineer waving figure.

Amazing !!! Who woulda thunk it?

They could sell my wife this one, and that's half the battle!  By the way, what railroads had these?

"I am surprised nobody is speculating the PRR- T1...

And yes Lionel can produce and sell it if it was made off new tooling."

Certainly - and that's probably the death of it, too. At this stage of the game. (It has astounded me that some of us actually think/thought that MTH or someone could "copyright" the design of the PRR T-1, or anything else in the public domain. It's the specific tooling, not the prototype, that was at issue.)

It was no Niagara, but I like the PRR T-1 way more than any NYC fan should. It'll be our little secret.

Here's how I see it...

I have been crossing my fingers for quite a long time for a Legacy Niagara; a Vision Line Niagara would be incredible. With MR tooling up a fix for the gear issue, it seemed like a sure thing. I sold my CCII Niagara a while ago in anticipation of what would have been a  legendary legacy offering. Just look at how often the gear fix form kept getting comments... on a fifteen year old TMCC RS4 engine! That's a hell of a following! You know that thing would sell! Yet, the legacy Niagara continues to hold the allegheny's former place as being the longest overdue updated steam offering...

Except for say a PRR T-1. I'd put my $ on them doubling down on another PRR loco.

Lionel has been doing a much better job recently about putting things in sequential catalogs that go well together. My guess is that with all the recently catalogued PRR passenger cars, a Vision Line T1 is finally looking like a real possibility.

My longshot bet is of course the J3a Hudson. Its gotta be coming up soon but unlikely in the Vision Line. Better chance of this one gracing the pages at the head of a premium heavyweight Century set.

Either way I'm happy because at least one of the 3 above has gotta be just a catalog or 2 away.

Looking forward to the announcement...

I find that its tough to be excited over the VL stuff any more, when lately, every other item Lionel delivers has some gross error or defect.

Not to mention, none of the rehashes of rehashes are as interesting as the 2-10-10-2 and the 0-8-8-0 were.

Enjoy those big ticket locos though, I'll sit back and wait for the reviews from the beta testers.
