So the only Northern that shows on sale for the 299 Is the Milwaukee Road 265.  The NYC and UP are listed at the normal price looks like.  According to the inventory, they have 43 Milwaukee Road Northerns!

While I have mostly stepped out of S, I did keep a few things, including all my Milwaukee Road rolling stock.  So this sale works well for me.

Are these showing on a special "sale" page? A search for AF returned a total of 39 items on 2 pages (which also showed an HO Bachmann set, a couple of Lionel O scale items, plus a classic Gilbert Defender set). The Milwaukee Northern was shown @ $299, as well AF lettered waffle box cars, and a couple of cylindrical hoppers, along with several Fastrack items at about 20% off list, and although the Northern is a great price (is it Bluetooth capable?), the list didn't indicate there was a special huge sale going on,unless I missed a link somewhere.

I called them this morning and asked. They said the 15% discount did not apply to the Northerns, but a few may have slipped through with the discount. However, their home page still states 15% discount on all but pre-orders. Since this shows as in stock, I really don't understand why the discount isn't applied. Still, good price for the Milwaukee at $299 so I ordered one. The Nassau web site is confusing at best, and misleading in this case.

You are right, I don’t know what’s up, it worked fine last night.  Maybe Charlie will pipe up. That’s a shame, I was going to order the UP today.

Ben,

Thanks for the heads up yesterday. While not a huge fan of Flyerchief or modern era toy-like stuff, my kids love running FC locos.  So I had a hard time passing up an NYC at $297. Sorry you weren't able to do the same.

Ok, we made a mistake on including the “Sale” item Northern in the extra 15%. We did Honor all orders we got prior to noticing the mistake. I mean really, does anyone have Northern at 299.99 anywhere? If you got one before the mistake, we’ll you got a great deal. Deceptive Gunny? I don’t think that one item qualifies as deceptive. Our buying power gives you, the customer some great deals and we will countinue to search these out for you. Thank you, Charlie ( Btw I’m here in the. Middle of a huge snowstorm packing orders even though no services are picking up or delivering today)

Gunny,

I can see how it’s disappointing, but I don’t think it was malicious. Mistakes happen.  But it sounds like they honored the sales that went through.  I am curious how Nassau ended up 40+ Milwaukee Road northerns.  Nassau has quite an online footprint, but still seams like a lot.

Annnnnd....still hoping to get the UP.

I rarely post, but I have worked with Charlie and the Nassau Hobby folks for some time, and ordered many items from them before (including during their sales events). He is the real deal, not trying to do some bait and switch. Their promos typically do not include any pre-orders or items marked as “sale” on the website. Some error orders got through, and rather than cancel those orders, they did right by honoring them. Huge error, but one they owned up to (as it was certainly a costly one). Not deceptive by any stretch, and I value them for doing what’s right by the customer.

I paid for FedEx delivery received an empty box from USPS. That is bait and switch. I paid for one service and received an inferior service.
