Thanksgiving weekend I was able to attend the Saturday show and take in the Raritan Valley Hi-Railers awesome coal buildings on their modular layout. I had seen some pictures on their FB page and couldn't remember seeing it for the August show(I must have been distracted looking at something). Seeing all this made me think of other coal options that there is. I saw some interesting information on different methods of getting coal to the rails here, http://appalachianrailroadmode...bcs-of-coal-loaders/ All very interesting. Here are the pics.IMG_20171125_101929268_HDR[1]IMG_20171125_101935090_HDR[1]IMG_20171125_101922063_HDR[1]IMG_20171125_101915254_HDR[1]IMG_20171125_101902773[1]IMG_20171125_101855308[1]IMG_20171125_101839353[1]IMG_20171125_101834589[1]IMG_20171125_101826376[1]

All this just gets me thinking about how much coal I have in my coal hoppers and what I should be doing with it.

Thanks to all who came out to the show Thanksgiving weekend. We really appreciate the feedback and the positive remarks. We work hard in the workshop year round the keep the layout looking fresh. Stay posted for some newer modules in production now. And again thank you to all for coming out to the shows and talking with us.

Dave,

Thank you very much. That means a lot. It's kind words like yours is why we keep working on new modules. Not to spoil the supprise but we are working on one with another water feature (of course using real water). Keep watching our Facebook page we try to keep up with it. We also have an Instagram page if you are on that  (just search Raritan Valley Hirailers) again thanks again and make sure to come say hi at the December show.

Dave,

Matt has a special gift that has really brought a lot of life to the layout. Of course,  he likes to design things to as close to real as possible and share his talents with anyone willing to learn. Unfortunately for me, I get to do most of the electrical on our layout, and not to take anything away from Mike Losi, who's been getting pretty good with electrical himself. Mike is good with design & scenery on the layout as well and we have some others that are pretty good with building modules. (Jeff, Shane, Cliff & others) There are a lot of ideas rolling around these guy's heads.  My biggest challange is trying to get Matt to run his trains!!!!
