Beautiful pictures and trains, Peter, which i guess is from a train club you belong to.

What really struck me is the attractive pleated green skirt to hide what is beneath the tables and the wood holding the skirt in place. I did my usual Rube Goldberg approach (short cut) many years ago when I bought a lot of green fabric and used thumb tacks to hold it in place. 

You have inspired me to improve the skirt around my layout which will greatly improve its overall appearance. Thanks.

This MTH Premier G5 is an engine I've always liked but rarely run. So, off the shelf it came a few days ago.

We are visiting the Valley of the Sun area for a few months to get away from all of the cold weather. Suppose to be 75 here today, far cry from what it is to be in Missouri. So I brought a few projects with me that I have been putting off. These photos show me populating my Texas Special passenger cars. Hope you enjoy them.

I've had this MTH Santa Fe aluminum passenger car set from the mid 90s for several years. The observation car came with a blank, generic, rear door. I discovered Lionel had a "Super Chief" drumhead rear door available. Last week I placed an order for said door and it arrived yesterday. Now the rear of the 6 car set has it's proper name.

Picked up one of Lionel's new Santa Fe SD40s!  Love it!   Here she is helping Lionel's mighty #6431 pull a mixed freight:

Arnold.......thank you for the kind words.....as you can see, we use the "simple" thumb tack approach for the inside of the modules.

Will I meet you in person at TrainStock tomorrow?

Here are some shots and a video from our setup at last weekend's World's Greatest Hobby on Tour show in Monroeville, PA.  The video, while a little long, features DOC's complete American Freedom Train and has a lot of "ride-behind" video from my homemade camera car.

Picked up this NOS Legacy GP30 EMD demonstrator this week from Nicholas Smith Trains. Great service-shipped from PA Monday afternoon and FedEx Ground had it on my doorstep in Jacksonville Florida Wednesday morning!

Runs like a champ out of the box. I stripped it bare to check lubrication after sitting almost three years; happy to report Lionel actually lubed these pretty well. I did clean it all out and replace with Lucas Red 'n Tacky & Labelle oil to get it off to a good start.

Oh, those dipping joints. Looks like you got burned like I did using crappy Gargraves dippity - do tracks.

All future projects I will be using MTH Scale trax with a thin center rail along with 2r sidings. Might want to make a change to enhance that great modeling.

I think this fits with my new drumhead theme.

Steve: Thanks. We have also a lot MTH Scale Trax and future we use that all our new projects, but S.B.R.R. is not ready yet.
