All funny...and you can see the OneBig Happy scenes on the nightly news all too often..

This has always been one of my favorites. I think of it every time I see a very large and complex layout.

I love the short WB cartoon where Tweety, Sylvester, and the Buldog were in the same baggage car.  Tweety loved pulling the brake cord.

I had forgotten about Rev. Lovejoy of the Simpsons. Maybe not as true in the US, but in England it's apparently very common for 'the vicar' to be a model railway enthusiast.

"For Better or For Worse" by Lynn Johnston had many strips about model railroading, apparently based on her husband actually taking up the hobby.

That was an homage to Walt Disney, a past president of Los Angeles Live Steamers (1.5-inch scale), by Ward Kimball (another railroad enthusiast at Disney) and the animation crew. Ward had model trains plus some 12" to the foot scale equipment. The Grizzly Flats Depot at his home (unfortunately I wasn't able to get the model) was based on one on the Disneyland Railroad as I recall. A great cartoon. Walt's Carolwood layout was pretty detailed as depicted in the cartoon. His barn/workship is in Griffith Park in Los Angeles at the LA Live Steamers site.

Since we're on a train cartoon kick... here's another Walt Disney train cartoon...

Isn't it fun still being a kid?

I love the Wallace & Gromit series.

The scene with Gromit chasing the penguin, and the inexhaustible box of track, always with the correct piece that Gromit needs, is one of the funniest and best chase scenes produced.

I remember seeing this on Boomerang!  I'll give it a watch before I go to bed.

Thete is WB cartoon where Wilie E. sets up a dummy rail crossing to catch Beep-Beep.  He stats up the highway warning signs.  Jumps on track.  Ready to catch the blue bird.  Gets run over by train.  See tracks, think train!

I have several of these Superman cartoons in my DVD collection, but have never seen one that was so crisp, clear, and with such good color. Thanks!

Here's one I saw in 2011.  Since I'm an S gauger, I changed the original "Lionel" to "American Flyer" using a photo editing program (sorry my 3-rail cousins).   But the sentiment is the same.
