Hello Steve. That is the exact setup I’m using. I wanted active anti-derail functionality and the Atlas non-derail boards are now extinct. The Z1000’s have active anti-derail for about the same cost as the Atlas boards (if you could find them). They also have a much smaller footprint than the Atlas switch machines. One final thought, if you do decide to go that way, order your switch machines from one of ZStuff’s vendors (e.g., Ross) instead of direct (do a forum search as to why).

I have one DZ1000 on an Atlas-O switch and it works great. I had one spot where the Atlas switch machine would not fit so I replaced it with a DZ1000. These are very nice switch machines. I think you will be pleased with them. I am not using the non-derail features.

The rest of my switches still have the Atlas switch machines, but if any go bad I might just use the DZ1000s to replace them. I have not had any problems with my Atlas switch machines like the ones many others have reported, so I might as well keep using them until they fail. I am not using the non-derail features on these either.
