I got my 2016 MTCRRC Long Island boxcar today. It's been so long.

What was the 2017 car and did anyone get it yet? I can't remember if I renewed for 2017.

If I did I may renew for 2018 because I have moved, and hopefully the 2017 car will follow me when it does show up, if it is not here already. Everything is upset in the move, and I can't easily retrieve things to check it out.

It isn't easy being in S.

Reading the above conversation makes me realize how far behind I am in understanding the SHS to MTH transation. I am not aware that MTH sells "memberships" nor have I purchased any MTH S product since SHS sold the business. If the first two "annual" cars have been Eastern railroads LI and C&O, then I'm not particularly interested. My primary S scale activity at present is converting SHS, AM and SSA rolling stock to various Mexican roadnames of the 1976-82 era, before the Sureste, Pacifico, Chihuahua-Pacific, Sonora-Baja California and NdeM all merged into the FNM. I still have a couple of dozen NdeM boxcars produced by SHS in 2004. They are available at the original SHS price of $40, despite one reportedly selling for $100 on Ebay. I will bring a number of these to Fall S Fest in Illinois in November. I've already picked up mt Amtrak tickets for that trip.

MTH began the "Club" in 1999 and has been offering club cars since, beginning in 3-rail O and later expanding it into the other product lines.

Don't worry about being behind about the transition.  It's been going poorly (to be polite about it.)  You haven't missed anything.

Since there's only been one S catalog in 2013, the only way one would know about club cars are either here or if one picked up one of the other MTH catalogs.  MTH S gets very little buzz on the other discussion boards from what I can determine.

The first S club car was sorta "western," a gold DM&IR ore car in 2014:

It's prototype paint job has been unverifiable, but it actually looks better in real life and is none-the-less an oddly attractive car.
