Looking for the stuff to make my old All Nation F3 powered. Just a dummy unit right now. Prefer the all geared set up and not the chain version

A differnt option would be to use the drive parts from P&D Hobbies. Basically these are the duplicates of the old Weaver Single motor drives. Pat at P&D has had new gears and sprockets made to replace the originals. He still had a bunch of gearboxes and towers.
I repowered an A-B set with a torn up fibre drive gear in one a few years ago. It became the best running of the two sets my buddy had and pulled better with less weight.
Pat could probably fix you up with all the parts possible including new sideframes with 8 wheel pickup.
I thought about that option as well. Going to wait to see if atleast one truck worth of gearboxes and one of the original open frame motors get offered up before I go the custom P&D route. I wont run her enough to kill a set of gears.
the original fibre gears get pretty brittle with age. My buddy was a "fast" runner and apparently the loco hit an open switch which which cause immediate stoppage of track power and the motor and the weight of the loco tore the gear up. It had all the original weights in it and was quite heavy.
a sudden stop would be a gear killer. Mine will mostly sit in the station on my switching layout, but I want to be able to move her under her own power.
