I am looking to buy a 2-6-0 Mogul steam engine, similar to those run in the first half of the 20th century. Looking to model the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad. As far as I know, Lionel is the only manufacturer who made a Mogul in O gauge. Thank you for you help.

MTH makes a 2-6-0 in its Rail King line, but it is not scale size.

I have seen that, but I don't think they make it from the correct era. The style of engine I am looking for will have the headlight on the top. The MTH 2-6-0s have the headlight in the center. If I can't find one exactly how I'm looking for it, I can settle for an MTH variation. Thanks for the reply.
IIRC, what Lionel offered is a slide valve 2-6-0. B&H #11, now Everett RR #11, is a Alco piston valve locomotive.

Thank you. I have seen that one, but cannot find it anywhere. The asking price may be a little out of my range as well. Thank you for your reply.
Is this what you are looking for?

Also its not hard to change a center headlight to top headlight.

It is. I've bid, and whomever is the top bidder has a max bid higher than I'm willing to go...right now.
Stay far, far, faaaaaaar away from the Lionel Legacy Mogul.......

I don't run Legacy, so I'm looking for something conventional most likely. I would probably have it converted anyway. What are the problems with the Legacy?

There are significant, yet-to-be-resolved gearbox issues (among many other issues) with the Lionel Legacy Mogul. Search the forum and you'll see this saga has gone on for nearly a year and a half with no end in sight. Lionel can't figure out what's wrong with them. Don't be swayed by the low prices on the Legacy moguls, you do NOT want one. They are junk.

Good to know. Thank you.
Why not go Bachmann/William's
Lake Shore limited set #00324
You get a black NYC mogul (conventional w seuth smk.) nice transformer, circle of track, couple of cars, all for about $250 plus shipping

If it is O Gauge and runs, I'm interested, haha.

Bachmann's locomotive is a Ten-wheeler (4-6-0,) not a Mogul (2-6-0.)

I just looked it up and noticed the same thing. Thank you!
I stand corrected. It is a 4-6-0
The Bath and Hammondsport did own a 4-6-0

Just curious - what are the "many other issues" ?
There is nothing wrong with Lionel's earlier run of Mogul's. I bought one of the odyssey versions years ago and relettered it for the Clinchfield. Later on I bought the C&O, a traditional locomotive, and converted it to DCS.

I'm essentially looking to do the same thing.

Yes, the 4-6-0 was a Camelback from Erie
I stand corrected...strike 2...best of luck
