Its been over a decade since my last scratch build and although I am glad to be back there is one thing that still seems to drive me absolutely nuts and send me screaming for the hills ... WINDOWS!  No matter how hard I try or how many different ways I attempt to scratch build them they always turn out to be a nightmare.

So I humbly come here to ask you, my fellow members of the forum community and in particular you scenic and scratch building gurus for help.  Can you share any tips, tricks, or short cuts on how you have chosen to master the fickle art of window building?!?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks jpv for the response.  I greatly admire the technical know how and skills required for 3D designing and printing and have seen some really impressive stuff as a result of this approach.

As many problems and headaches that 3D printing would indeed absolve me of, I am at heart a scratchbuilder and tend to stick to exacto knives and coffee stirrers.

I make every effort to not scratchbuild windows and to make use of whatever is available commercially.

If I do want a "unique" window, I'm cutting up commercial ones and using them as parts to build what I want.
