I know Andy Petersen bought a case of (12). As far as the car being fantasy I'm not sure. I think Pennsy had this car but not with the names of towns on it. Your friends could of bought this car from Mr. Petersen. The three towns that I chose for this car the PRR railroad ran through all three. Torrance, PA. is one of the locations my father took me to to watch the trains when I was a boy. It was just about 14 miles south of Homer City. One of my repair people lived in Bolivar PA. Johnstown, PA. was were a lot of my customers were from.  

This just may explain where Rich got these.  He bought from Petersen, in fact many of the Weaver boxes had Petersen labels stuck on.

I guess one of these day must unpack these cars and photograph them.

And SMS still have at least one amongst all their collection.  My choice is to paint mine as a DR-4-4-1000 in Reading green switching today's freight cars in NJ.  All together now ... "switching pike".

Yes I know the VO-1000 has a slightly different radiator and yes I have acquired an MTH AS616 to do similar and, OK you may not be interested,  yes I have got a dusty folder marked 3-rail to 2-rail conversions.

As we worked through my friend Matt I's collection before it was taken to the auction house.  One of the most interesting cars was this Weaver car with multiple paints.  Image the number of times the paint print was done to get this multi color.  There were other cars done like this by Weaver.

Do like and have the ACY box car since am from Youngstown.  But ironically the ACY never got close to Youngstown.

My favorite Weaver hoppers.

My only complaint about this car is the lack of factory-applied reporting marks; I suppose that I can add some. I am thinking about BBCX or BBX 1016.

Love the wood chip cars. I must have made a few hundred of those for Weaver. I have a conversion kit for making one that I picked up just before the closing.

Here are the majority of the rest of my Weaver cars.  Duplicates of the hoppers that I didn't take the time to photograph,  1- Montana Rail Link, 4- Gov. of Canada, 1- Alberta.

What l paged through looking for above, and don't think l saw, were the Baldwin 2-8-0's, that l snoozed and lost, expecting Weaver to do another run with other roadnames.

One of the last sets of Weaver, I purchased from Jim   Yellow dots are Weaver Cars.  Without the yellow dot, also Weaver un-decorated, with Dry-transfer decals. 

Some of the coal loads are also Weaver. 

 By the way Mike you have a beautiful layout I really love your landscaping and the Pennsylvania bridge and those we Weaver cars just set it off.  Thanks for posting

Atlas now has the molds for these, call them and find out.

 Those are very nice Paul thank you for posting I think the B&O is my favorite and the Campbell 66 I was going to get the Riss 35 foot highway trailer and  piggyback car but my order was canceled because they went out of business my supplier did not make the order in time.

Jim.  those Conrail hoppers look very good.  It’s a shame I just started in the O Scale when Weaver went out of business but I’m blessed to get the ones I can find on the Internet and hobby shops. 

 Here’s another one that’s kind of special to me I bought it about two years ago my great uncle and my grandpa both  worked  at the Missouri pacific car shops in De Soto Missouri my great uncle retired from there.

Yes !!   Though, this model, takes a lot of creative liberty with the real #29.  The story of these 2-8-0's, was one of economic disaster.  Sanda Kan had made these for K-line, who declared bankruptcy. Weaver, I assume, got them for a bargain, they were a good buy, from Weaver, at the time.  Paint and final detail, done by Weaver??

Lee,  you’re welcome.  I braved the cold in my garage to take the pictures.  With pellet stove going it only got up to 45 degrees by the time I finished.  I miss Weaver’s flyer that they used to mail out.  I had wanted to buy several of their refrigerator cars but never did.  I should watch for them on the auction sites.

Thanks to above...l saw #29 come into the South Rim yard as l was just getting back from a hike along the rim past the uranium mine under the rim.  I think it had a diesel helper (ewwww!), but it was hot and l was tired, so l rushed to car and did not pay attentuon.  Baldwin 2-8-0's were everywhere,  except in tinplate mfr. offerings.  Shoulda pounced on one.

Thank you for stopping by and posting I wish I got in to the O scale earlier so  I could enjoyed more of the Weaver cars but slowly but surely  I’m building a collection of them here and there

 Here is the caboose I acquired last week 

So caught up in the box cars (Do not know what I like better box cars or passenger cars) forgot about the fourteen Weaver pieces still have.

There are two two-bay Pennsy coal hoppers just perfect for spotting coal delivery just under the Lionel concrete coal tower (just over the coal hopper for this type tower).

But most notable three steam locos.  One (no Pic) the Southern Ps4 #1380 pictured earlier here.  The other two:

The Pennsy C1 (frame right),

and Pennsy K4 Torpedo,
