my buddy’s 611 took a hit for the team....it wasn’t cracked, so it was worth a shot to see if we could make suitable repairs....first step was to remove th paint from the wrecked area to see what we were dealing with. Once we saw no cracks or breaks, we slowly heated the area in steps, moving the roof back to as close as it could get with out making things worse...Satisfied with the movement of the roof, we knew some fine details could not be saved at this time. So, they’ve been removed and will be added back on as separate applied details.....the object of the game now is to get back a slick smooth roof with no eveidence of repair...so, more than likely another swipe or two of fine fillers, fill primer and blocking.....so far so good...and stay tuned...we’re going to make this J into and excursion model, with the pretty gloss finish she wears in present day...this will be cool.........oh, and your welcome Sean....stop dropping your trains!65AAABB2-5B3A-4D63-818C-5545A4709FDD948DAD8A-77D8-461A-946D-90EA59799732416B7BF4-ED66-4568-A5AF-109B9790A33D8E3F540C-E188-4E71-933B-6F58DA506EFFAEAEAB11-D35C-41BD-B901-F93DD28B3462

Very nice body work would love to see the final product. One detail about the current J and her paint don’t forgot what they named her I believe it is “The Star of Roanoke” Scott Smith could tell you for sure as I have not seen her in over a year so not sure my memory of the name is correct.

We’re going to add as much of the current detail as the wallet allows Rick.....I had a close encounter of the 611 kind while she was at the NC transportation museum...got lots of pictures, talked to the folks working on her...this will be a fun project, I’ll be sure to post up progress as we go along.......thanks for kind comments!.......Pat
