Nationals Park has a unique and great way of keeping score with trains in Norfolk Southern Club. As a baseball and model train fan, I cannot think of a better combination. Here is a link to article. http://www.character-shop.com/...atsnstrainboard.html

Hi Cliff,

That is very cool. Nats season ticket holder since 2005 so I am in the fraternity.   Norfolk Southern became one of the Nationals high visibility sponsors several years ago and has a big presence, especially with the NS Club mentioned in your link. Also lots of signage around the park.

Opening Day soon!

First; this is neat!  I wish we could get something like this at SunTrust Park (or whatever it will be called after SunTrust decamps to Charlotte).

Now; call me a cynic but; it’s interesting to see that NS does a corporate sponsorship of this nature in the nation’s capital where the target audience is most likely to be politicians rather than a city where a large customer base might exist.  🤔

Very cool.

I also like Houston’s train beyond the left field wall. Camden Yards in Baltimore also comes to mind as another baseball stadium with strong railroad ties.  I haven’t been to Camden Yards yet, have any of you? Curious if they have anything similar?

Absolutely. I think many already know but the long building outside the park is the old B&O warehouse. Interestingly the winning design for the stadium distinguished itself by including the warehouse as an integral part of the stadium complex.

And the old Camden RR station building is close by.
