hello all, I just replaced the couplers on a u36c truck the same as an sd40. the coupler is part # 8855-50 and it works great. here is the question; I saw no way to correctly fit the coupler into place with cutting away the bottom center part of the plastic steps attached to the frame work. I could grind out the rivets that hold the steps in place but that could be a trick attaching and riveting a new one. any suggestions on the subject in the event of further repairs?
