I’m going to be redoing my layout and eliminating my Ross switches. I plan to put them up for sale. The original DZ2500 machines had corroded PCB contacts and were replaced by Dennis with new machines with gold plated contacts. I have not installed them and was just planning to include them with the switches. Do I need to install them or is it OK to just put them, in their sealed packaging , in with the switch and let the buyer do the install. I would sell them at a reduced price.

I have no opinion about how installing the new switch machines would affect the marketability or sales price.

What I'm really curious about is why you're eliminating all your Ross switches.  Did you go with Atlas, ScaleTrax, or ??  As someone who may be on the doorstep of building a new layout with 30+ switches, I would like to hear about your experience with Ross.  Thanks!!

Going with anything other than Ross seriously limits your track plan.  I have built with Atlas and both lines of MTH.  However absolutely nothing like the flexibility that Ross delivers.  Made in the USA and never really out of stock.  They make special orders as part of their daily agenda.  Plus they work!

I have never had any problems with Ross switches they have performed well. I just decided to do more of a display layout and eliminated the switches. I saw the layout on line and it seemed appropriate for the size of my room. With 054 and 042 curves I can run most small steamers and diesels.

I plan to sell them with the DZ2500 switch machines and was wondering if I needed to install them or just include the sealed package and let the buyer or buyers install them or sell them. I have a four way, 2 #6, and 3 054 switches. They are like new, no screw holes or ballast. They were like the rest of my Ross track held in place using black wire ties so there are no screw holes except the ones holding the machines in place.
