We have a MTH Turbine which is driving us nuts trying to figure out why the rear truck(s) derail all the time, even on 120 degree curves! It is the MTH 20-2185-1 Union Pacific Veranda Turbine w/ Proto Sound Cab # 61. Makes no difference if it is running light or pulling a freight. Always derails on all but totally straight track. Has anyone else had this problem with the #61 and if so, were you able to fix it? Thanks!

Seems I remember something about those span bolster trucks and a fix for them...different springs or something. I'll call a ASC friend tomorrow that I believe has a fix...then again I could be wrong.
I had the same problem with a GG-1. I solved the problem by placing a stronger spring on the screw or stud that pushes down on the truck. Since the trucks are different, you may have to experiment with different size springs.
At the time, MTH did have a span bolster repair kit to raise the frame to clear the trucks. Might call Midge and see if any replacement bolsters are still available.

I have the PS3 Premier Veranda that had the same problem. The plate that the 2 power trucks are mounted on had a bow in it. At the time Midge did not have a replacement plate. I removed the trucks and plate so I could remove the bow in the plate and then reassembled the trucks and plate and it now operates without the derailing problem. Midge did get a new plate to me after a few months which I am holding in case the problem happens again.
