One of the reasons I had to have the Camaraderie Tavern building by Menards is the Royal Crown Cola sign on the front.  Coke and Pepsi may be the major colas, but the classic RC is favored by many.  Boxcars and sets have been done repeatedly for Coke and Pepsi.  I think its time RC gets some time on the rails.20190518_030629~01

While RC was the favorite in my family growing up, and a competitor avoided because of its trademark marketing policies, l can't say I've seen a prototype photo of a reefer or other railcar in any of these three logos?  If it wasn't real, l don't want it.

Other than a delivery truck, I am sure you are correct.  This fact has never stopped Coke sets, cabooses, and everything else from being made.  I have my prototypical interests running on my layout but seasonally run floor setups of unrealistic trains.   Something luring about the beverage logos on trains.  There is a really nice Coke caboose out right now by Lionel that tempts my purchase.  No idea why really, just fun Americana I suppose.

RC signs used to adorn businesses in rural America.  Especially Appalachian states, midwest, and Pennsylvania.  I always thought their flavor was true cola vs. more sugary rivals, personal tastes and obviously the Coke and Pepsi fans outnumber.   I also like underdog companies that succeed in the face of the jumbos. At one time RC owned Arbys and TexSun juices.

It also had the nickname of "Roman Catholic Cola".   (I am of the same.)

Used to have a bottling plant in La Grange TX.  I think RCC also had the Nehi flavored drinks.  When it got hot, some people who sold soft drinks had these tanks.  Put bottled drinks in them. Iced them down.  Drained off the water.  Put more ice in.  Nothing like an Orange Nehi cooled down on a hot day.

Just stumbled across this thread.  Three years ago I had a colleague from Sweden with me when we visited one our production sites near Mobile, AL.  When we got back to the airport for our return flight to Atlanta, he happened to notice a rack of Moon Pies in an airport shop and asked me what they were.  After explaining I told him Moon Pies and an RC Cola were the “official” snack in Alabama.  Darned if he didn’t try the combo and actually liked it.

It's "Keurig Dr Pepper" now.

I want to see an operating K-cup car

Snapple was attached to Dr Pepper at some point too I believe.

I've bought as much RC as Pepsi. Coke a little less.

I spotted a "news" story that "New Coke" was getting another shot at life. (New Coke was the Edsel of soft drinks; a marketing backfire)
