This is something I did a WHILE back. It was from an outfit called Schomberg Scale Models. I don't think they are active anymore. This is their hydrocal Feed and Grain Mill. I liked it because it was an odd shaped building. I had been working part time in a train store after I retired. The owner gave me this kit because it had arrived in a lot of pieces. This was somewhere around a $100 kit. When I got done I felt kind of guilty so brought it back to the store. The owner had it sold in a few days. I was building only wood bridges and decking back then which he was kind enough to display in the store. This was pretty much my first non-wood structure. He then had me building other kits (mostly OGR) which he would advertise and sell over the internet. I branched out into plastic custom structures a year or so after this.

Dave your version of the Dairy is great it's a wonderful kit to bash but your version on the angle shows up your artistic talent once again.

I have to buy the video of your layout I keep forgetting to order it I know I will enjoy it. Your layout must have been in OGR at some stage can you tell me when I would also like to get a copy.

Thanks. mate.

Thanks Roo!

My layout was in OGR many years ago.  It didn't look anything close to how it looks today.  Same with the video.  It has changed dramatically.

I am almost finished with the layout enough to submit more photos to Allan.  I have one more area to complete before I feel comfortable enough to let the world see it.  I am currently finishing up another motorcycle which is taking up all of my time (and money).  When it is done, I will turn my attention back to trains.

Ahh, trains and motorcycles. My kinds of diversions. Not to change the subject or category too much but what are you riding and also building?

When Dave feels his redone layout is ready for prime time (those of us who see it regularly feel it already is, but Dave is a bit of a perfectionist), you can be sure you'll see it in the pages of OGR again. In light of his work with The Clarks band, "scratch-building" the new motorcycle, operating his train shop, and attending to life's other requirements, I'm not certain how he finds any extra time at all, but somehow he manages to juggle everything successfully.

Jerrman,

Out of respect for the OGR members, I won't post pics but here is a link to my FB page.

https://www.facebook.com/david.minarik.528

It is public so you should be able to see it.  If you can't see it, shoot me an email and I will send a couple photos.

On a funny side note:  I posted a pic of one of my rides years ago and a member here got on me about my carbon footprint.  LOL

Thanks Dave for the heads up. I might have to take out a subscription to OGR Mag. Roo.
