I have a Bascule Bridge That is in pretty good shape.  I have disassembled to clean and lubricate.  Having a difficult time putting everything back together especially the electrical contacts and spacers attached to the bottom of the gear box.

Does anyone know where I could get a diagram detailing the Bascule Bridge.

This was posted a couple of weeks ago. It's for the wiring.

As far as the rest of the assembly: See the second link for a 22 page booklet.

Also, use the search feature in the Blue bar at the top of the page. Type in Lionel 313 bridge and a whole bunch of posts will pop up.

Good Luck.

I am in the process of rebuilding a Post War 313 Bascule Bridge and need help with the switch/controller at the bottom of the motor.  I have a couple of questions about the post by jayhawk500 above.

  1. In the first link about wiring, what are the numbers?
  2. What is the 22 page booklet in the second link?  Is it referring to the work by Richard Luppold?

Thanks for any help.

Dennis, i'm sorry. I have no clue. I just a search using the sites search feature and these two threads popped up. I'm sure someone that has and rebuilt one of these bridges can answer your question better than I.

Thanks Dan for the Luppold document.

On Page 20 (first page of the patent drawing), there is a drawing of the switch that is connected to the bottom of the motor.  Is there a little black insulator (about 1/4" in diameter) that should go between the middle two leaves of the switch.  I found what I think is an RCS-27 Spacer Button loose with the switch.   Is that what I see on the patent drawing?

Does anyone have a picture of this switch that shows these parts?

Again thanks for any help.
