The CN skytop car is a hard one to get.  Find a Milwaukee one and have Christine Braden custom paint it CN.

I no longer wait decades hoping the companies will make something, or remake, I have it painted up by Christine.

Thanks Scott. Interesting suggestion. How does one connect with Christine? I’m flying down to come to my first York this fall so I’m hoping I may land one there. Will see!

Send me an email and I will give you her contact info.  She has done custom trains for me in VIA Rail, CVSR, Amtrak, and "auto-train."

Gerhardt - Simply put, MTH's 'hi-rail' wheels have deeper flanges, blind center drivers, wider wheels, and traction tires and are intended for use on 3-rail O Gauge track. On the other hand 'scale' wheels feature narrower scale-width wheels with more prototypical low flanges and are intended for use on 2-rail DC layouts. Of note is that the deeper flanges on locomotives with 'hi-rail' wheels may contact the track ties on low profile 2-rail O Gauge DC layouts.

For further elaboration go to MTH's website or just google questions on your computer and various results will come up from which you can choose. Incidentally, for any O Gauge engine 'searched' on MTH's website they list whether it's 'hi-rail' or 'scale' in brackets at the end of the product number.

Lastly, assuming you have a 3-rail layout, I note that 'Trainworld' on their website has an O Gauge CN 20-20554-1 (Hi-Rail) F7 listed at $390 U.S.

Hope this helps and Happy Railroading!

Thanks so much. Yes hi-rail is what I’m looking for then as I’m using fastrack. Thanks!

I think I was fortunate. I’ve bought most of my items from that same seller as he’s in Canada and the shipping is much more reasonable. When it popped up for sale I just reached out and made an offer so I don’t think the sale price actually shows up on eBay. Crazy thing is that I’ve been looking for one for years and I actually narrowly missed out on a set privately about a month ago! It was my #1 item on our trip to York last October but I actually didn’t see much for Canadian road names at all. Thanks again and happy Choo-choos!

Lucky Duck, I have been looking for  MTH 20-65109 from 2007 ,with sky top version in the set for years.Always on my list for York but very elusive.I have a Milwaukee aluminum repaint but it’s not the same. AL

Hi Al,

I will keep an eye out for you and send a message if I find one. I recommend setting up saved search on eBay so you get notified when one does come up. I have seen your posts over the years as well looking for this item. Like I said, haven’t seen one in years and then I’ve seen two in past month! Take care, G

Thanks. I had the same search saved , however I didn't get a pop up on ebay. I tend not to buy from ebay, rather buy from OGR members, or local retailer. Like Toy Train Workshop in Orleans and Kanata Trains , as I reside in Ontario.Tough getting Canadian roads.Ill get a set, just timing.
