It seemed before KM shipped the units to the SP, they were tested in Germany with buffers and European couplers. Looks like it is already painted in SP's Bloody Nose paint scheme.

It was an export unit built for only the U.S.

Ironically the V300 (V300001) was a single unit which was never duplicated.  It was too much engine for the needs of the DB.
