Connecting multiple DZ-2001s

Why do you need 3 DZ2001L's?  Do you have a lot of switches?  If so how many do you recommend per each DZ2001L?

It's not a matter of the number of switches.  It's the length of the data wire that can be an issue.  75 feet is the limit of that data wire.  My layout is 47'x11'.  I decided that the practical way to access all of my switches (37) was to divide the layout into thirds.

Remove one set of threaded inserts and then just use a twist-tie to hold the two connectors together.  For the command base, just use a short jumper cable, it's better NOT to have something long sticking out and potentially pulling the DB9 off the PCB in the command base anyway.

It should.  Besides, I am using a 15VAC tap to power all the TMCC components.

To answer GRJ’s concerns, I plan to support the 3 DZ2001Ls and DB9 cable connector with a small shelf.

No.  It's a TMCC Command Base.  The "L" version of the DZ-2001 will work with either TMCC or Legacy.  I think it has improved the way the cables are fastened to the board.

Yes, the TMCC base will likely drive the 3  DZ-2001L but not the Legacy base. I think the L has a lower current draw by an increase of the resistance in series with the opto isolator diode.

You'll likely need a buffer for the Legacy base.
