Re: Sub $500 resin printers

Anybody bought one of these. I'll be starting to detail stuff shortly. During this layout scenery work I'm pretty sure I've spent well over $500 at shapeway on little stuff and still have a long way to go. I know there's a lot of 3D printer stuff on youtube but you have to listen to too much crap that comes with most of them. Below $500 I could give it away after I'm done with it and not feel bad about it. All I want to do here is print a bunch of gas and electric meters, mailboxes, brooms, etc.

If you bought one of these would you buy one again?

I'd have thought you'd use the printer to make stuff you could not buy.

All that stuff would seem already commercially available; why not save the pain and effort and just but what's needed directly?

I guess we all have our idiosyncrosies. I don't want to spend $40 +/- per building to detail 50 buildings.

have you been following this thread? I believe the resin printer he is using was in that price range and the detail items he is making are incredible.
