I learned today that our restored PRR rail station in Flora, IN 46929 on the old Vandalia route (Chicago-Indianapolis) is having their Second Annual Depot Day Festival on September 21, 2019. While the interior is not completely finished, it is "usable" including restrooms. A model train club will set up a layout during the Festival. (Scale not known.)
Flora is some 75 miles N/NW of Indianapolis VIA US 421/IN 29 to IN 18W, and some 20 miles from I-65 VIA Lafayette. (SR 18 is closed from Brookston, IN to Delphi for those coming from Chicago.)
Particular attention was made during reconstruction of the building to holding it to 100% accuracy relative to paint and materials insofar as possible. The exterior is finished.
This section of the PRR was the route of the South Wind. The roadbed is still used by a private company.
