Hi.  I need to wire my new Lionel Teddy's Hobby Shop to my MTH AIU.  It has the somewhat annoying plug n play connector.....has a black, red and white wire.  If I connect to an MTH AIU, will the lights be on all the time and the inside trains move when I activate the accessory?  Or do you have to wire thru the Lionel switch which comes with the Hobby Shop.  Lionel instructions say you have to hard wire the red and black to power, but do not mention what to do with the white wire and if you can control the two light/power features without using the Lionel manual switch.  Please help!

Hooking up the red and black wires and disregarding the white wire will provide the necessary power to light the lights, which will be permanently on, and power the trains.  However, you will need to plug the three wire jack into the Lionel controller in order to turn the trains on and off.  I don't use the AIU, but a separate 30 watt transformer to provide the 14 volts required by the Hobby Shop.  It has an on/off switch that I use to turn the lights off.
