Midweek Photos is back, ladies and gentlemen.  I have had a lot of things going on lately, and not much time available on a Wednesday to make a new post.  I hope everyone's Summer has been coming along really well.

It has been a while since I posted any Steamtown related photos, so here are a few.  The one above was taken July 14, as two trains passed on the North Side of the railroad yard in Scranton.  Nickel Plate Road no. 514 returned to service earlier in the year.  She was undergoing heavy repair and renovation the past five years.  She and F3 no. 664 are preparing to make an excursion run to Gouldsboro, while Baldwin steam engine no. 26 passes by with the Nay Aug Gorge Limited train.

This next one was taken August 4, as no. 514 leads an excursion bound for Moscow, PA.  Early August is the Moscow Country Street Fair, and this was the second run to that fair.

On Tuesday, August 8, F3 no. 664 and her F7 B unit were moved a little in the yard.  Tuesday is normally a quiet day at Steamtown, so any action is appreciated by those of us who work there.

On Wednesday, August 14, the Electric City Trolley was chartered for one run, at 3:00 I believe.  When one group charters, they decide to run for the entire day, and take up any walk-up business they can get.  This run was near the end of the day, and it looks like they are bringing the car back to the barn after a busy day.

The big news at Steamtown is we are preparing for Railfest 2019, which will be on August 31 and September 1. To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Reading's Iron Horse Rambles, we are dressing up the first loco to run these trips, Reading 4-8-4 no. 2124.  She is being brought back to her 1959 appearance.  From her most recent painting in 2012, she was in basic black with moderate trim.  (Her freight scheme).  The yellow and the "Reading Lines" diamond add a whole new look to her.  She will be starring in a night photo session, and I hope to share those pics with you in a couple of weeks.

That is my contribution for the week.  Feel free to add some photos of real trains, running or not, to the line-up here.  Have a great week, too.

Photos shot by Train Room Gary, with a Canon DSLR, T6i & processed with Adobe Photoshop. Camera notes: The train was traveling at about 35 mph at the crossover. To capture the action I used a shutter speed of 1/500 in shutter priority.  ISO - 200     Lens: 18 - 55mm   Auto Focus

Hope to see you out rail-fanning: Gary
