Does anyone know someone who customizes box cars. Looking to have a custom one made but don’t have the skills do it myself.

Are you talking about a custom paint job on an existing box car, or custom building a type of car that is not currently being manufactured?
Finding a blank box car and have it custom painted with lettering
Atlas O sold boxcars unpainted / undecorated... Check ebay for them
Don't underestimate yourself Royboy, it is easy to strip, paint, produce you own custom decals and apply them.
If I can do it just about anyone can. Here are some examples of my work, all fun projects.

Very nice. Can you buy a blank O scale box? Much less work. Is there a book that explains how to customize train cars, apply decals, etc?
Sorry to ask so many questions but would love to learn how you create such great custom ones
what do you use to strip paint
do you use aerosol paint cans to repaint or airbrush?
Do you print your own decals? use a special software to design decals, print them out with an ink jet printer, use special decal paper
are your decals water slide?
Christene Braden of CJB Custom painting in Pittsburg does a great job
Any idea what they charge for one custom box car

Hi Yanksali,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you but I was away for a few days.
I think the last item in the FAQ section of my website (below) should answer all of your questions. If not, let me know.
Good luck and have fun
Hi Ski,
Maybe it's on my end, but I couldn't navigate on the FAQ page down past the items on the splash page? I'm also interested in your method of custom decals.
Thank you.
Paul

Hi Paul, I just checked the site, all is well, guess the issue you note is on your side. Try clearing history, re-boot, and then type in the website name in your browser.
You can buy waterslide decal paper on Amazon or ebay. I suggest a supply of both clear and white. They come with simple instructions. The only other things you will need is a can of clear (I like Krylon) spray paint and a printer
You can make decals of anything you can print from your printer (clip art, pictures, heralds, words, etc). There are limitations; you cannot print white (I look to ebay for supplies of white letter decals in different sizes to keep on hand). Light colors like yellow will also fade away when applied to your model if printed on clear decal paper (no matter how opaque it may look when printed). Print the light colors on the white decal paper and cut out the design that you want. I did this when I made the orange stripe with yellow trim on the Illinois Central caboose I made to match my postwar F3's.
Apply like any waterslide decal, just like you did when you made airplane models when you were a kid.
Here is the caboose I mentioned above:

Thanks for the information
So, ROYBOY, did we inspire you to try this yourself?
Worst case is that you wind up with a stripped shell for someone else to paint for you.
No loss and a lot fun trying
