Very nicely done!

Am I imagining things, or was there a different representation of the Towers on the layout before that one?

Without going to try to find a post to check my memory, I though I remembered seeing some pics from a visit to the club that featured the Towers some time in the last 3 or 4 years.  (probably been around that long since I've been to a Trainstock or other open house up there - I'm pretty sure I don't recall them from the last time I visited).

Whoever built that did one hellava job. Is it one of those architectural models from when it was designed or was this built recently. Either way it is most impressive.

It was scratch built.  Primarily by John Eckrote and and Anthony Di Scascio.  There is 96 hours of laser cut material that comprises the 8 sides of the towers.  They are about 7ft tall.  They had to use a rope and pulley system to install it on the layout.  All in all a monumental effort.

If you'd like to see it in person come on down to the OGR 50th Anniversary party on October 20th!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments... to follow up chris lord ... it’s 8ft tall ... I originally designed the frame work to be 9ft tall but some club members thought it was too tall so I compromised... I took a ft off lol 😝... south tower should be on the layout tonight... then work on the fountain and globe will start ...

You arent imagining things  The way this started was with two glass cabinets that looked like the two towers   We tried different overlays and Vinny decided he wanted a better looking building  It took awhile but was well worth it  This was the first attempt
