Looks like their first attempt will be disassemble and move by trucks.

Did you happen to read the whole thing? Did you miss the part about the bridges on the Ohio Central are incapable of handling such heavy loads on railroad heavy duty flat cars? Thus, the ONLY alternative is to dissemble the whole locomotive and ship the "bolt-on components" separately, then the tender (less trucks), then the boiler, then the engine frame and machinery by truck.

Wow...Surprised an existing RR can't handle it, even in parts.  Glad it is saved and getting a home.  (And the Big Boy is running all over its system)

What does THAT have to do with the price of tea in China?

I dunno Hot.  Maybe you should lay off tea and other caffeinated drinks for a while.  Your "snark" level is pretty high.

And unwarranted.

By disassembling it and and loading on to heavy-haul trucks, you only have to pay for the cranes twice, one to load, once to unload.  Then there's all the labor involved.  As the 643 is land locked (and apparently too heavy for the Ohio Central,)  to do the same by railroad require two more uses of the cranes to unload from the trucks to a flat car and vice versa.

$$$$$

As to the Large Lad, it has a shorter rigid wheelbase and more wheels to distribute the weight than the 643...
