Hello again fellow flanged wheel enthusiasts, and welcome to the latest addition of Switcher Saturday - Mark II!

This is the place for your weekly dose of little engines that do big things.  If you prefer an A5 over an Allegheny, or a Plymouth over a Centennial, you found the right place.

For this week here is a road switcher I found in the wild, NS GP-38-2 5296.  A little history shows this engine actually started as a Penn Central loco and is older than me!

On the smaller side of engines you can still sit inside of, i had the opportunity to swing by the Reading Society of Model Engineers this week.  So I got permission to go in the round house and try to take some pictures of locomotive #10.  This engine saw industrial and park use before engine up at the RSME, and has one of the most interesting drive trains I have ever worked on.

This threads welcome switchers of all sizes and sources, such as 12" to the foot, live steam, HONGZ and of course 3 rail O gauge. If you want to check out last week's thread you can find it here.

As usual, there's a few simple rules for Switcher Saturday:

1. If it's related to switchers (model switchers, prototypes, critters, switching yards, switching layouts) - we want to see it! Videos, Pics, Stories (true or fictional), poems, whatever!

2. If you miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

3. Keep it friendly - we want this to be fun. (we haven't had any real problems with grumpy trolls, I'd like to keep it that way)

4. In regards to compliance with the letter and spirit of the OGR tos, this post is in the photo album section as the subject is switchers and small motive power.  Three rail O is the common medium but anything from prototype through Hongz, grand scales, live steam etc is welcome, as long you took the photo yourself or have permission to post it.  Feel free to post a link to something cool.

In keeping with the GP38 theme, here is a K-Line GP38 that I repainted into Penn Central colors.

K-Line cataloged a PC GP38, but went belly-up before they were made.  I always liked the K-line GP38's because of the small fuel tank.  They have TMCC and Railsounds, too.  Added a Cruise-M and upgraded the sound file.  One of my favorite locos.

Thanks for checking in folks.  Once again I think we need some steam so here’s a few things from my phone.  This is me, about a lifetime ago, hanging out the fireman’s side of Laurel Highlands RR #7, a 1934 H. K. Porter that started life as a saddle tanker.  It is now on static display somewhere in Georgia.

And a recent offering LionChief Christmas Special.

Since every else fixed onto Geeps as a theme, here’s another.  This is a Williams model that can pull out tree stumps!  The gearing however is the usual Williams setup, so 6 volts is about warp 4.5 unless you load it down with cars.

And lastly, I finally found a picture I had of RSME #10 outside and with the hood on
