I did not even know I made the cover... A friend told me a week ago when he got his calendar. And I did not know about Dave's post until another friend told me when he sent me a congratulatory e-mail.  Oddly enough, my calendar has not arrived yet.  Maybe the mailman took it because he's an O scaler.

Wow I can see why that got the cover, your layout is just amazing looking! I love the catenary, that is some of the best I have seen (always been a sucker for it, since the days of riding the old DLW MU cars on the DLW Morris and Essex branch). The scene itself is stunning, to say the least. The only thing my scenery would make the cover of is a piece of my layout in a trash bin on the cover of the "trash haulers 2022 calendar"

Congratulations, John! That really is quite an achievement, and you should be deservedly proud of what you have accomplished in (and for) our favorite scale. I am a Life Member of the NMRA dating back to the mid-1970s, and in an organization that is admittedly dominated by HO and N scale hobbyists (long the two most popular scales), it's sure nice to see O given more recognition.

By the way, the text for the cover photo reads:

"A trio of O scale Pennsy motors, two P5a box cabs followed by a P5a modified, roll through a scene inspired by the Whitford Bridge at Exton, PA. The motors are MTH 3-rail converted to 2-rail and detailed. The catenary is scratchbuilt from brass sheet and phosphor bronze wire. Thanks to everyone who replied and posted likes.   I know NMRA has a reputation for being primarily devoted to HO and N. But I'd like to think its more because they don't get enough O scale submissions for their news letter, calendar, and other publications rather than some inherent bias.   

So after you submit something to OGR (got to do that first!)  then send something to the NMRA.  This applies to 3 rail layouts as well. My friend Neal Schorr has had photos of his layout featured in past NMRA calendars. 

By the way,  I am not sure why the NMRA moved me Exton, PA.  I live in Burke, VA!     But on second thought, maybe that's why I have not gotten my calendar yet...it went to Exton.

You're quite welcome. I was very excited when I received the calendar and that was the first thing I saw. I instantly recognized that it was your layout just as I did when Neal Schorr's layout was featured. I waited for a bit because I wanted to make sure I wasn't duplicating a posting that had already been started. Again, well deserved.
