Al,

I think you should build it with two 28" turntables not 24" turntables.  While each turntable is 4" larger, the combined project would be only about 6" wider than using twin 24"s.   I think your game plan should consider not only generating "buzz" at shows, but have an end game of selling the unit as well.    While 24" would fit many smaller engines, there are other engines that would require at least a 28" table to turn them.  Thus, I think it would be easier to sell the finished product with larger bridges.

Thanks guys on the input. I think I will go with 28" dbl. unit. I was also thinking the 24" would be too small for most engines. I'll keep you posted.

I had a turn table/engine house on my last layout in a two car garage. I thinking of installing a turntable just to turn engines though I have double the room in a four car garage. I don't mind storing engines on sidings and save lots of room. Don
