The Cruise Commander M isn't forever gone, it's just currently being manufactured.  It should be back in three to four months

The Mini Commander 2, OTOH, is gone along with all the other Mini Commander stuff.  The existing receiver chip is unobtainium, so without a redesign of the board, it's out of production permanently.

Thanks for the sound card info. I was thinking the gas engine card would be the best fit. But reading the post, I see the Mini Commanders are no longer available. Looks like I waited too long.

Well, on the good news front, you can still buy a MiniCommander by another name from Lionel, they're used in the track speeder, etc.

OK - What is the OTHER Name for it under Lionel ? Part Number would be nice too.

I have an older MTH 0-4-0 Docksider I used a Motor Mite in but it got fried and I'd like to get it back up and running again.

One suitable board is the 691RCM2104 for the inspection truck.  Another is the 691RCM2100 for the speeder.

Any sounds available?

All the ERR RailSounds boards are available, that's what I used in mine.
