A couple more questions for a first time Yorker

I received my badge some time back, does Eastern Division also sent out an info packet to those that pre registered?

With our badge can we walk on in or do we need to go to the registration desk first?

Getting anxious.

Hi Steve, wish I was going as I would of liked to have met and to say thank you for all the information and the answers to some of my questions throughout the last several years

Read Clem's York Primer.  There is a link in York TCA meet forum.

Eastern division usually sends out a flyer of about 8 pages. This year they got lost in the mail. It has maps, times, guides and all sorts of useful stuff. Look for it on the Eastern division site. It might take some looking.

Steve, Here's a few more tidbits that you may find helpful .

If you are looking for a certain vender and do not know what hall or where they are located , you can go to the large hallway that is located between the Silver and Blue hall . There you will find the layout maps of all of the various halls . These are taped to the walls behind the UPS shipping station .

If you find that one treasure that is too big to bring home an a airplane , Ups will package and ship it out from right there . I have never used it ,so I do not know how economical it is .

The Silver hall is the heart of the operations , there you will find the registration desk and public address system . There is also a list of door prizes that are taped on a wall .Check and see if your TCA membership number is on it . If it is , you won !!!!

The Black hall is where the operating layouts are .Spill overs are all in the White , Orange and Purple halls .

There is a cafeteria style restaurant between the Red and Black halls in addition to all of the various food trucks on the grounds . This is where the standard gauge breakfast get-to gather is .

I hope that you have a wonderful trip . Jim

Enjoy your life now . It comes with a expiration date .

Be prepared with all forms of payment:  credit cards, checks and cash.  Most retail folks accept credit cards.  Many members accept checks but some folks only accept cash.  Don't be disappointed, bring checks and cash too.

Good advice above.

Before you pay, be sure to ask if the method of payment makes any difference.  Cash is often a good bargaining chip.  Many dealers will discount the price to cover the tax when being paid in cash.  Some will reduce the price for cash or check, some won't.  If there's no discount, pay with plastic and earn the points.

Steve, I hope you have a great first time at York, and may you have many more. I would've enjoyed meeting you, but unfortunately, I had to cancel the trip this time. I'll be back in April; hope you are too.

Have a great time!

Steve, now that you have registered for your first York in or before April you should recieve a packet for the April York. Be prepared for shock and awe. It is alot to take in in a few days. Also in case you did not know you don't have to keep parking at halls to try to cut down on walking the far grounds. They have free shuttle buses that go around the grounds to all the halls............Paul

Thanks Paul. We never got out info packets, but will mush along. Went to the Wyndham earlier, then the Harley factory tour. We've run into a few friends from our part of CA already. Been a great day so far. Parted with a little bit of cash.

Although the Wyndham is the place for standard gauge and tinplate, PACE YOURSELF!  That said, if you see something you want for a price you like, jump on it.
