Over at Baker Company 796th ROB, a crew gets # 5069 ready for some switching near Winner, Tennessee on a warm summer's afternoon. They have guard their gasoline supply carefully, as gas is rationed for the civilians and every now and then someone likes to sneak in and 'borrow' a Jerry can of gas...

I buy every train set that has my name on it even if my name does not appear on the train .... however this special run Lionel set had my name printed on the side of the locomotive and each car.  Whitehead's Flyer rides the rails in Patburg!  My friend Randy Harrison and his son Chris pointed this set out to me at train show and of course I just had to buy it ... original box and all!   Lionel made the set for Schwepps Gingerale Co. as a promotional item.  Commander Whitehead was the longtime spokesman for Schwepps, hence the name of the train.  I only run it about once a year for a brief period.  Loco has nylon gears ... don't want to wear it out LOL!  fullsizeoutput_24c
