Larry. Great pics also and thanks been hauling containers out of St. Louis now for 24yrs. I used to haul bicycles from overseas to Olney Illinois I went through Flora Illinois many times. My dad was a trucker also back in the 1950-60s and he used to stop and eat at the Flora Truckstop always thought it was neat I drove hwy 50 the same road dad drove 50 years earlier.

For today:  Very early this morning, as the sun came up,  farmer Puffy Hastings brings his truck load of produce to the produce shipping terminal.  His load of vegetables will be loaded  onto a railcar and whisked off to a supermarket distributor several hundred miles  away.  From the looks of the load it appears that Puffy has got a lot bagging to do before the railroad will accept his produce.    I hope he brought plenty of burlap bags along .. LOL!

The steam era lasted at least a decade longer in West Germany then here in the US. Mainline electrification meant the end for steam.

Here an articulated German electric passes the dwindling steam facility.

Johan, that Milwaukee engineer must have gotten lost to end up in New England with his ride.

Sarah that's fantastic work.  Did you build the car or add the detailing and weathering?

I placed my gopro camera (which I have hardly ever used since I got it on our European cruise in 2018) inside the Grindstaff store, put the roof on and used the remote shutter on the app.

Not the best shots ever, but it's neat to see how a O scale person would see it normally inside.

What I find interesting is how the side lighting makes such a big statement on  Pat's layout.   Really nice. 🤓

It's always especially nice to have the story lines accompanying the photo.  The lack of 'houskeeping 'along the rails really adds to the ' feel ' of realism without being too pretentious .  Looks pretty professional IMO.
