Randy's gorgeous Pennsy Steamer and coal drag inspired me to make a video of my favorite Pennsy Steamer and coal drag:
MTH Railking K4 hauling 9 postwar coal dump cars and Pennsy postwar caboose.
When pulling that many postwar operating cars thru O31 curves and 022 switches, you want to be sure the wheels are well oiled.

I love the look of the Pennsy coal drag because it reminds me of something from my childhood. I had a lovely aunt Ruth, whose husband was very successful. She gave me many Lionel trains and accessories as birthday and Christmas gifts throughout my childhood. She was a beautiful woman who was the spitting image of Donna Reed. Anyway, she and her husband lived on a 5 acre estate in Pennington, NJ with a sprawling split level home, and they were members of the Hopewell Country Club, not far from their home in NJ. I would spend 2 or 3 weeks of my summer vacations with my aunt and uncle, when we often went swimming at the Hopewell Country Club. The Pennsylvania Railroad tracks went right by the pool area at that country club, where we would see Pennsy coal drags the seemed to go on forever! I was always astonished at how long those coal trains were.
The coal drags I saw there were pulled by powerful diesel engines, and maybe GG1s (though I'm not sure about that), but not steam engines. The Pennsy locomotives I saw were very powerful and made the ground shake.
I think memories like mine above add a lot to the charm of model railroading.

Arnold, No, it's not ACL, it was a MTH RK 25th Anniversary set issued in 2005. The set was a ABA F3, and for separate sale, a matching four car passenger set.

Here are my newest babies, they are Atlas O Master Series EMD Demonstrator F-2/F-3 Powered A (291A), Powered B (291B1) and a Non-Powered Dummy B (291B2). After doing a bit of searching I found that these F3's were sold to TP&W and I was able to find pictures of the A Unit that was renumbered to 100A. The B Unit was also sold to them but later converted to an A Unit with the designation of F3Am. I love finding these old pictures!!

Gandydance 1950 - The WbB 44 tonner runs fine. If you like to run switchers a very slow speed though, this engine doesn't have it. It looks nice, can pull a considerable amount of cars, has engine sound, a single chime horn, and a bell.

Joe: That takes probably some weeks. I just came home some foot operation and can't walk or drive a car 6-8 weeks what is a really boring. Before that i can post only some older pics.
If some of mine friends has time help me i can go some easy place where i can take max 50 steps and take pics.

Photos of my 2065 pulling a troop train for Memorial Day. Consist is a Lionel B&O boxcar from the old Target exclusive set, a Railking B&O combine and a Lionel Utah Beach add on baby Madison coach for the 2000 troop train set. I unfortunately don’t own the set just the coach car.

Johan there sure is a lot of interesting railroad equipment in and around Porvoo. The roundhouse over on Switcher Saturday is also pretty nice.

Well, there are no snowsheds or cab-forwards on the Southern Ry (it's not an SP photo.)
Correct however, it is so the crew can breath through the many tunnels on the Southern's Rat Hole Division. The air supply is tapped off the main reservoir.

Thanks so very much Tom. I get a kick out of moving things around on the layout. I like to keep scenes fresh .... just like real life .... all things change ... the only permanence is impermanence. I do have one heck of a lot of fun too.

A Flushing bound LoV IRT train climbing the 4% grade out of the Steinway Tunnel into Queens Plaza. The Steinway Tunnel runs under the East River, and is named after the famous piano maker.
