FOR TODAY:  Circa 1953 ...  Another boxcar load of Christmas trees arrive on the  Patsburg team track.  The local Boys & Girls club has been selling trees like hotcakes!  They've sold one car load already and now this will be their second.  The local toy stores have equally been doing well too.  It seems for every tree sold folks are purchasing trains to go round that tree!!  

That’s a lot of trees the boys and girls club sold.  No need to do any more fundraising.  Great imagination Pat!

Paul, the Christmas tree sale looks like it is going great! Your friend with the red truck should have got 3 trees to sell and pay for his gas! LOL

Patrick, wonderful idea with the Christmas tree train car, maybe you and Paul's friend with the red truck can get together and haul some extra trees for some extra cash!

Sitka, he was on ground up in the hills manning the radio shack. He fought in the Pacific until the bomb dropped. Once over he came home.

Denny, sorry it's taken me a couple of days to respond...I'd be happy to answer any questions your cousin has.  For the benefit of any others on the forum who might be interested in the questions and answers, feel free to post the questions here and I will do my best to respond.  My picture process is simple.  That is, I take the pic with my phone camera at a time of day when only flat light (no sun) is coming through the two basement windows right above the layout.  On my Samsung phone, there is a feature that allows you to adjust the light up or down as conditions warrant.  I usually darken the pic slightly, even though a small amount of light is peeking through the windows.  Basement lights are off, and the building lights on the layout are on.  This lighting condition often creates what I call a "blue" effect to the picture....just happens so I'll take it.

The final step is sending the pic to my e-mail and downloading into my O Gauge pic file.  Once there, I edit the pic further in Windows 10 using the "Edit and Create" feature and the  "Adjustments" tab.  These features are engaged by using a slider bar...easy.   I usually end up darkening the pic even more and use the "clarity " feature to increase what I call the "sharpness."  There is also a "spot healing" feature that's effective for cleaning up any debris on the roads...lol  Hope this helps, but ask if you need more information.

The pic below of the Chevy dealer shows the "blue effect" I mentioned above.  The light on the roof of the building is the low light coming through the basement windows.  For me, this lighting condition appears mid to late afternoon.

FOR TODAY:  The work train .... That's Jake and Henry on the ground.  They are inspecting the turnout to see if it needs to be replaced.  If so BIG HOOK will be doing the heavy lifting.  Just another day on the railroad.

Thank you. I got the inspiration from the houses in the Cleveland industrial area where the steel mills lived for years. Dirty and run down. Although, this house is just dirty and could use some "running down".

Hudson railroaded. In you're first post on this page there was two evergreen trees in it . May I ask did you make  these or where did you find them . Really nice scene by the way. Thanks Farmerjohn

FOR TODAY:  The Mountain Division got a dusting of snow this morning.  This crew is running lite and in the hole waiting for a manifest freight to pass.  Engineer Rufus Reed, conductor Biffy Barnes, and brakeman, Lukas Johns, step out of the cab for fresh air and a leg stretch.   It's going to be a long day on the railroad!

Trains coming and going at passenger station at Christmas  time. Moving family's  closer together. Wow so much fun.
