Something  you don't see on a lot of layouts is an airport. Still working on mine as you see needs a lot of work but it's definitely  different.

Well already have about 5lbs of coal I picked up at an old rail line, for 9 bucks on ebay, still boxed new got 4 k-line ore cars along with a few other good finds.

FOR TODAY:  The Patsburg Volunteer Fire Department is always at the ready!  This Holiday Season Chief Buster Holmes reminds everyone to be sure to unplug your tree before leaving your home or going to bed.  Never leave candles unattended and make sure your smoke detector works.  

I don't often take photos of the Paradise layout from the bay window side of the layout, so here's one.

The story goes; A Southern Pacific local switcher #1102 has arrived at the ES Ranch to load up some Western Pacific livestock cars with cattle destined for the Stockton, CA. However, the Rancher, Eliot Scrounge, is struggling with the "We Take Your Steak" aliens who are trying to take more than the agreed upon number of cattle! Yup, Eliot signed an interstellar agreement with the aliens' swapping cattle for technology to improve his livestock output and profits!

The aliens' thought they could take one extra steer after they erected a "Giant" Christmas tree in the middle of town for a tree lighting later that evening. Rancher Eliot being a distant relative of Ebenezer Scrooge wasn't having any part of it, after all, he didn't ask for the Giant Christmas tree. The SP engineer and conductor were getting annoyed at the tug of war between Rancher Eliot and the aliens' and threatened to leave without the cargo! A disgruntled Eliot gave in to the aliens' and let them have their gosh darn extra steer. With the help of the conductor Eliot loaded up the two WP livestock cars with cattle and 1102 was off to deliver the livestock cars to Western Pacific.

Later that night Eliot had a horrible nightmare about some spirits that visited him and showed him a future that was none too pleasant! Hmmm, sounds familiar?! The next morning when Eliot woke, the Christmas tree was all lit up and sparkling! Between the nightmare and beautiful Alien Christmas tree, it put Eliot in the Holiday Spirit! So, Eliot went into the barn to grab a couple of bottles of fresh out of the still corn mash whiskey, and off he went to deliver the other kind of spirits and Christmas Cheer to his family and neighbors!

Today I finally caught a pic in my Home Town. Thii I’ms guy makes local deliveries around the area. Caught him today by the old Vineyard Ready Mix Plant.

Back in October my 11 yr old Grandson and I built a platform for his trains. A few weeks later I took it to his house, his mother painted it.  He has approx four sets of trains and several plasticville buildings, and just recently bought some scenic materials for the layout from a forum member.

Wow! This thread has been rolling for a lil' minute, eh?
I don't have any special detailed shots to share yet as you folks have, but I'm excited to share a secret with you all here. I have rallied a quick build of this table and have only had time to get an outer loop set and wired.  My immediate family counts out to eighteen and only a couple of them know that I am building a table for grandpa's old trains. My grandpa's table was always near the center of attention after family meals or events - we would all gather around and watch them run. They have been stored for roughly 30 years and my whole fam-damily will be gathering here this weekend and I am excited to surprise them!

Santa Claus is going to town!!  Unfortunately the F3 diesel, at left, is pulling a long coal train full of lumps of coal.  I wonder who will be the unlucky recipients getting lumps of coal in their stockings?

Nice pic Patrick I hope it’s not me for staying away to long lol.

Here’s today’s. Around here in my home town they run two power units one on the front and one on the back. Yesterday I was lucky enough to catch the one on the back and I’m glad I did. Notice the old boxcar at the Ready Mix plant they  used for storage one day I’ll try to get some pics of it too the ends have a distinct look to them. It’s so nice to be back working at home now. Enjoy your day

Very nice. Yes you don’t see them I have one on my HO layout and the plane needs to be finished I’ve been working on it for years

It has been 14 years ago that the following video was made. After seeing it again this morning and writing a narrative to go with it so my wife could send it to a coworker in India for her family to read and view, I was inspired to again share it with all of you on the OGR Forum.

This video takes you for a ride through our train layout that we call "The Great Northeastern Railway" on a train pulled by a steam locomotive. You can hear the chugging of the locomotive and its whistle as it is occasionally sounded. Your journey begins when you board the train at the suburban station in Terryville. As the train departs, you can see from your window seat part of the farm and a church. As your train makes its first turn, it passes on the main line through Eastside Freight Yard where you can see several box cars sitting, waiting to be unloaded. At the next right turn of the track, the weather turns colder as you enter the snow-covered city of Christopolis with its city park and various tall buildings. You are also passed on track number 2 by another high-speed passenger train going in the opposite of the direction in which you are traveling. Since your train is an express train with no stops, your train passes, without stopping, through Union Station, Christopolis and continues toward the long C&T tunnel under the foothills of Mt. Carroll. Wow, is it dark in there! As you exit the tunnel into the early evening light, your train slows, hesitates briefly, then returns you to your starting point Suburban Station, Terryville. Wait!!!  D&%= if I hadn't  had that third chile dog I would have been on that train!  Oh well the next train is due in 20 minutes.  I have enough time to down two more dogs!  Maybe this time I'll ask for sauerkraut that way I'll be guaranteed my own seat on the train.  hmmm... "  And such is life for Ron the vacuum cleaner salesman.    

The forecasted holiday storm is just hitting Wilberville as the CN steamer hits the South Main Street crossing...
