Have purchased two pkgs. of MTH seated engineer figures.

My question is since a GG-1 looks the same at each end, "Where should I place them in a GG-1 cab?"

For GG-1's that already come equipped with seated engineer figures, how many does the manufacturer include?

Are there 2 engineers in each loco - one on the right side at each end when the GG-1 is facing forward, or one on the left side at each end when the GG-1 is facing forward, or an engineer seated on both sides but at only one end of the GG-1? Or did they have 4 seated engineer figures with one on each side at both ends of the GG-1?

Thank you for your help.

My recently purchased MTH GG-1 manufactured in the late 90's has a tiny "F" on one end. I assume this mean's this end has been designated as the front for shop or mechanical purposes. From the GG-1 pic's I've seen on the "net", this is the end or section where the steam generator resides, perhaps for a visual eyeballing by the motorman.

As to the installation of crew members, my shell has "oodles" (is that right?) of room for either a single motorman and/or a head brakeman. It was a lot easier than trying to shoe horn two figures into the cab of a modern diesel with a motor shield shoved up into it. The new super thin, badly painted figures in the new locos are nothing more than plastic blobs with some flesh colored paint on them.

All the figures in my engines are from older Atlas and MTH engines. They look more realistic, have some meat on their bones, and have actual facial features. A quick but careful re-painting and some gentle arm twisting separates them from looking identical. It a shame to pay out over $500.00 for a piece of rolling stock and have something from a bad sci-fi movie sitting in the engineer's seat.
