I saw your website story regarding the smoke unit gasket issue on the GP7's but how do you remove the hatch section? Any trick to it? Didn't want to snap something off.
Thanks,

Carefully use your finger nail to get a small separation of the hatch. Once it starts it lifts out with a snap. Just be careful of the decorative horn.

Love your video! Very cool!

In the real world, smoke coming out of a diesel exhaust indicates an engine that needs maintenance...especially if it's WHITE or BLUE smoke!

I wish there was a way to get dark smoke out of the stacks ... I think it would be cool. Living in NJ, I saw MANY old diesels in disrepair belching away, as ConRail was being formed. (And,as a boy in high school, I drove a few $100 specials with leaking piston rings and head gaskets, too. Lol)
