I think that one of the highlights of this October's York is going to be in the Purple Hall.

The purple Hall will have 3 layouts:

The 10x30 Eagle Line O Gauge RR

The 30x30 Washington & Old Dominion S Gauge Club

The 35x80 National Capital Trackers O Gauge RR........this will be the 1st time new tracker members Putnam Division (me) and Gilly@N&W (Tom) will be participating with the group at York. We both joined the Trackers because we liked their "train running" concept and thought it would be cool to see if we could combine some of the modules of the River City 3 Railers with the NCT.

Here is the tentative layout plan:

The great feature of this layout is a massive HellGate Bridge. Here are pictures from a former York show:

I'm so excited about running trains through the bridge that I am bringing trains that regularly ran through it. I "road tested" a few of them last week on our layout.....

NOTE.......these next pictures are NOT from a previous York.....  in these pictures, I am "road testing" trains I WILL bring to York this year on the home River CIty 3 Railer layout....

This past summer, Gilly and I built two new modules that transition the right of way from the Tracker modules into our RC3R modules (and then back to the Trackers). They turn our section with two main lines and a passing siding, into three main lines

We are just a tiny part (18 linear feet) of this massive layout, but we are very excited to be participating as members of the Trackers. Please stop by the Purple Hall and check out what promises to be a spectacular layout.

I might also add, that the 10x20 Kid's Creek RR (sponsored by METCA and the LCCA) with be in the Orange Hall lobby.

@Putnam Division Great highlights of every train show. Last year, Peter and I shot quite a bit of pictures(and some video) of Scott Smith's Club Standard Gauge layout. I am not a Standard Gauge guy, but I tell you that was one of the best running layouts of the 2021 show.

You all have a blast, enjoy the show, and of course, the running trains. Be sure to snap some pictures of your favorite layouts as well.

Did the National Trackers have their layout in the Black hall a few Yorks ago?  It occupied the entire hall.  I think it was 115 feet long.  It had a large iron smelting operation, a Yellowstone type geyser module, a civil war module and I think had three mainline tracks.

Mike the data you want is in the pdf file I uploaded.

.......more than once.....it has been various sizes and I believe they filled the Black Hall like you said at least once (probably more)....

@Putnam Division, what were the transition/compatability factors; e.g., track brand, track spacing, wiring, connectors, etc.?  Curious to learn how much was involved to achieve compatability between NCT and RC3R modules.

Have a ball and will look forward to your photos.

Carl…….the answer is yes….all of those……..we’re going to cover all those items (and, how we got around them) in an article that we will submit to OGR Magazine……
