A York Preview…..October 18th Update

Hope you’ll post pics of your trains crossing the bridge. I recently had to drive my brother to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan and we passed the Hellgate while on the highway.  My brother, definitely not a train person, suddenly said “oh look… a train”. I had to inform him it was a southbound Acela. Wish he had been driving!!!

Wonderful, Peter, can't wait to see it. Thanks for telling us about it and showing it to us through your photos.

Wow, I sure wish I could go to York, but pictures are worth a thousand words, please keep the pictures coming. Have fun at York. Thank you very much.

Seeing pictures of the York Train Show would be great. My days of going are done. Therefore, you go and have fun. I can tell you, that some of the greatest days of my life was at the York Train Shows. So much fun.

@Putnam Division Great highlights of every train show. Last year, Peter and I shot quite a bit of pictures(and some video) of Scott Smith's Club Standard Gauge layout. I am not a Standard Gauge guy, but I tell you that was one of the best running layouts of the 2021 show.

You all have a blast, enjoy the show, and of course, the running trains. Be sure to snap some pictures of your favorite layouts as well.

Peter, I look forward to spending most of my time at York at the beautiful train displays like yours, and socializing at the Forum get togethers;  and the least amount of my time spending money on trains. LOL, Arnold

Did the National Trackers have their layout in the Black hall a few Yorks ago?  It occupied the entire hall.  I think it was 115 feet long.  It had a large iron smelting operation, a Yellowstone type geyser module, a civil war module and I think had three mainline tracks.

Guys.......to clarify......the only York Pics are of the HellGate Bridge.......the pictures that follow are of me testing trains I will bring to York of the RIver CIty 3 Railer's layout here in Richmond.... sorry for any confusion.....

.......more than once.....it has been various sizes and I believe they filled the Black Hall like you said at least once (probably more)....

Looks great Peter. Now we'll get to see a lot of New Haven trains. MTH was very kind to NH fans over the years from McGinnis themes (my favorite) to the cranberry engines. I look forward to seeing what you bring.

Seeing the layout will definitely be a highlight of the show and I'm very much looking forward to seeing your representations of real world trains running over the HellGate Bridge!  Your club always brings their A game to York.

The new modules we built replace the passing siding turnout modules…..so that the 18 feet we are bringing can have 3 mains like the Trackers……..

Set up starts 10 AM next Wednesday…….

@Putnam Division, what were the transition/compatability factors; e.g., track brand, track spacing, wiring, connectors, etc.?  Curious to learn how much was involved to achieve compatability between NCT and RC3R modules.

Carl…….the answer is yes….all of those……..we’re going to cover all those items (and, how we got around them) in an article that we will submit to OGR Magazine……
