After watching The Muffin's assembling the new MTH Logging Cars I knew there had to be an easier way:

First I slide the plastic bag half way off the logs and wrap with a rubber band. I wrap the exposed logs with the twist tie removed earlier and then slide the bag and rubber band off.

After bag removal

I take a second twist tie and wrap the logs to the car.

Connect the chains and done and only took a couple of minutes per car. The hardest part is hooking the chains in the little hole. Also showing tools required. I hope this helps at least one person assemble these car. After you have the chains installed you can remove logs to arrange them anyway you like the chains have a lot of flex to them.  Biggest on the bottom just be careful with how many logs you remove or the chains will fall off
